The Xcutlery Story

Steel. Fire.
No Shortcuts.

Every Xcutlery blade starts as raw steel and ends as a workhorse that earns its place in your kitchen. No factory lines. No mass production. Just fire, hammer, and hands that know what they're doing.

Where It Started

Since 2019. 250,000+ Blades In Real Kitchens.

Before Xcutlery had a website, it had a workbench. Since 2019, we've been forging and selling knives on Etsy — one blade at a time, one review at a time. The verdict came back the same way every time: this steel works.

Today, over 250,000 customers cook, carve, and butcher with our blades. The reviews you see on this site are those same real customers — carried over from where it all began.

Every knife is 100% hand-forged and totally handmade — forged in the old Scandinavian tradition: high-carbon steel, full tang, heat-treated for edge retention that laughs at daily abuse.

Where every blade begins.

The Making

From Raw Steel To Razor Edge

This is why our knives take 2–3 weeks when forged to order. Real forging doesn't rush.

STEP 01

Fire & Forge

High-carbon steel goes into the forge glowing orange, and gets hammered into shape. This compresses the grain of the steel — the reason a forged blade outlasts a stamped one.

STEP 02

Grind & Profile

The blade gets its geometry — the bevel, the spine, the belly. Ground by hand and eye, not by a machine preset.

STEP 03

Heat Treat & Temper

Hardened, then tempered. This is where edge retention is won or lost — and where we refuse to cut corners.

STEP 04

Handle & Final Edge

Full-tang construction, riveted handle, then the final edge — sharpened and tested before it ships to your door.

Our Word

What Every Blade Promises

Hand-Forged. Period.

Fire, hammer, and full-tang steel. If it's not forged, it doesn't wear our name.

Built For Work

Chef knives, cleavers, butcher blades — made to be used hard every single day, not displayed.

Forged To Order

Out of stock means we're making yours. Custom specs welcome — your blade, your way, in 2–3 weeks.
