Corporate Knife Gifts: Hand Forged Knives for Clients and Employees

Hand forged chef knife in an open black gift box beside matching boxes on an office table

A hand forged kitchen knife makes a good corporate gift when the person receiving it cooks, and most people do. It gets used every week, it sits on the counter where they see it, and it does not end up in the same drawer as the branded stress balls. Choose by the relationship and the budget, add a short engraving if you want, and order early, because every knife here is forged by hand and stock of each model is small.

This guide covers client gifts, employee and team gifts, and the bigger occasions like retirements and milestones. Prices come straight from our store as it stands today. Every knife is hand forged in the Serbian style from high carbon steel on a full tang, ships free across the USA and Australia, and is covered by a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and craftsmanship. For gifts to family and friends instead, see our Christmas knife gifts guide.

Why a Knife Works as a Corporate Gift

Most corporate gifts are forgotten by February. A good knife has the opposite problem: people use it so often they stop thinking of it as a gift and start thinking of it as their knife. That is the point. Every time a client trims a brisket or slices an onion, the thing in their hand came from you.

It also travels well as a message. A hand forged blade says you thought about it and spent real money, without the awkwardness of a gift card with a number printed on it. And because each blade is shaped by hammer and fire, no two are exactly alike, which is a nice thing to be able to say in the card.

Two honest caveats. Some companies and some clients have gift limits or rules about what staff can accept, so check before you send. And the buyer must be 18 or older, which in most offices is the easy part. On the tax side, the IRS caps the deduction for business gifts at $25 per person per year: IRS Publication 463 on gifts.

Client Gifts by Budget

Under $100: a thank you that gets used

For a wide client list, keep it simple and useful. The 5.5" clip point cleaver at $95 is small, handles everyday prep, and its red Padauk handle is the first thing anyone notices when the box opens. The Hellfang 5" butcher knife at $79 suits clients who grill. For anyone who fishes, the Barracuda 10" fillet knife at $68 is the most affordable knife on the site.

$100 to $150: the main client list

This is where most client gifts land. The Orca 7" chef knife at $135 is the safest pick if you know nothing about how someone cooks, because everyone who cooks uses a chef knife. The Kermode 7" at $119 is a chef knife and a cleaver in one tall blade. For a client who talks about their smoker in meetings, the Mamba 11" brisket slicing knife at $112 is the obvious choice.

$150 and up: key accounts and partners

For the clients who keep the lights on, go bigger. The Chef's Kiss 7" Serbian chef knife at $224 has a tall blade and hammer texture on the face. The Ironclad 8.7" chef knife at $179 suits someone who cooks for a crowd, and the Kodiak 8" butcher cleaver at $189 is the one pitmasters keep asking about. For a partner or a major account, a set makes the point clearly: The Smokehouse Set is $412 for three hand forged BBQ knives, and the Wolfpack 4 Piece chef knife and cleaver set is $395.

Employee and Team Gifts

For a team gift, consistency matters more than variety. Give everyone the same knife so nobody spends the holiday party comparing blades. The Orca 7" chef knife and the Kermode 7" are the easy all rounders. If the team has a cooking or BBQ culture, the Mamba 11" slicer or the Warthog 6" cleaver at $121 will get talked about.

For a milestone, a retirement or a promotion, one person deserves more than the team gift. The Chef's Kiss 7" or a set with a short engraving is the kind of gift that gets kept long after the job title changes. If nothing on the site fits, the custom knife builder lets you choose the blade shape, size and handle, and we forge it from raw high carbon steel. Custom knives take 2 to 3 weeks to forge.

Restaurants and kitchens are a special case. Chefs are picky, and they are right to be. A high carbon steel knife needs hand washing and a quick wipe of oil, which suits a cook who looks after their tools. Our high carbon steel care guide is worth sending along with the gift.

Engraving a Corporate Knife

Engraving turns a nice knife into your knife. Basic engraving is $29 per knife and each extra spot is $15, and you add it on the product page of the knife you are buying by typing the text you want. A name, a date, a company name or a short line all work well. Keep it short: the blade is a kitchen tool, not a business card.

If you want a logo rather than text, or you are ordering engraving on several knives with different names, email sales@xcutlery.com before you order so we can confirm what is possible and how long it will take. Engraved knives are personalized, so they cannot be returned for a change of mind. They are still covered by the lifetime warranty.

Ordering Several Knives at Once

We forge by hand, so we hold a small number of each model rather than a warehouse full. If you order more of one knife than we have in stock, the rest go to the forge and are made from scratch, which takes 2 to 3 weeks before they ship. In stock orders are delivered within 5 to 6 business days in the USA or Australia.

For larger orders, corporate gifting inquiries are welcome at sales@xcutlery.com. Tell us the knife, the quantity, any engraving and the date you need it, and we will tell you plainly whether that date works. A team of real people answers, usually within 1 business day.
